جميعنا يستخدم برامج كثيرة تدعم الكثير من اللغات ومن بينها العربية،
- هل سأل أحدنا كيف تم اضافة جميع اللغات لبرنامج واحد؟
- هل المبرمج الأصلي لبرنامج هو الذي ترجم لجميع اللغات ؟
- هل يستطيع المترجم ترجمة برنامج أو موقع بدون الحاجة لتعلم لغة البرنامج ؟!
هذا المجال الخصب ما هو الا امتداد لمجال البرامج الترجمة بمساعدة الحاسوب. لنبدأ بالتعريفات والفرق بين المصطلحات: Globalization و Localization و Internationalization
Localization (sometimes shortened to "l10n") is the process of adapting a product or service to a particular language, culture, and desired local "look-and-feel." Ideally, a product or service is developed so that localization is relatively easy to achieve - for example, by creating technical illustrations for manuals in which the text can easily be changed to another language and allowing some expansion room for this purpose.
Globalization is the tendency of businesses, technologies, or philosophies to spread throughout the world, or the process of making this happen. The global economy is sometimes referred to as a globality, characterized as a totally interconnected marketplace, unhampered by time zones or national boundaries. The proliferation of McDonalds restaurants around the world is an example of globalization.
Internationalization (sometimes shortened to "I18N , meaning "I - eighteen letters -N") is the process of planning and implementing products and services so that they can easily be adapted to specific local languages and cultures, a process called localization . The internationalization process is sometimes called translation or localization enablement . Enablement can include:
•Allowing space in user interfaces (for example, hardware labels, help pages, and online menus) for translation into languages that require more characters
•Developing with products (such as Web editors or authoring tools) that can support international character sets ( Unicode )
•Creating print or Web site graphic images so that their text labels can be translated inexpensively
•Using written examples that have global meaning
•For software, ensuring data space so that messages can be translated from languages with single-byte character codes (such as English) into languages requiring multiple-byte character codes (such as Japanese Kanji)
Arabic Internationalization (I18n) can be defined as the process of enabling back-end technologies to function or support the Arabic language and the locales in which it is used. In contrast, localization deals primarily with front-end or linguistic and cosmetic aspects of an Arabic-language software application or Website; this includes locale-specific content, cultural correctness, translations, and design.
Some of the reasons for internationalization are to ensure that your Arabic-language application or Web site:
Supports non-English characters and the bidirectional (right-to-left) writing system used in Arabic.
Handles the different address, time, date, and numerical formats used in Arabic.
Sorts based on Arabic language rules.
Allows the externalization of all translatable text strings (i.e., separating text from code).
التعريب هذا المصطلح الأنسب لما هذا المجال، هناك فرق بين برمجيات التعريب لبرمجيات وبرامج الترجمة بمساعدة الحاسوب، ترابطهما علاقة وثيقة ونفس المفاهيم ولكن برمجيات التعليم ببساطة مستوى متقدم على التعامل مع نوعية الملفات المترجمة.
برمجيات التعريب تتخلتف من ترجمة برنامج أو موقع أو ملف لغة برمجة
Microsoft Visual C++, Borland Delphi, *.ini、*.lng、*.dll.....
هناك بعض المترجمون عندما يعلموا انهم قد يترجموا هذه النوعية من الملفات قد يرفض العمل أو يصاب بالتعقيد من تلك الملفات..
ولكن ما برمجيات التعريب الأمر في غاية السهل، حيث يسهل علىك البرنامج ترجمة النص فقط ويخفى جميع اوامر ولغات البرمجة التى لا أهمية لها..
